About Sen Sok:

Sen Sok district was formerly part of Kandal province but was absorbed into Phnom Penh’s metropolitan expansion and was created through the merger of three Sangkats (Khmuonh, Phnom Penh Thmei and Tuek Thla).

The area is home to about 10% of the city’s population, located in the northwest which is one of the fastest-growing regions of development in Phnom Penh yet, in the last few years, there have been many high-profile projects with the addition of AEON Mall 2, Global House and Makro and a plethora of mixed development projects and boreys.

About nearby Toul Kork

Toul Kork — known locally as “TK” — sits in the north and northwest of Phnom Penh, separated from the CBD by Russian Boulevard. The name comes from the Khmer for “ground hill” (in some transliterations, Tuol Kouk, meaning “dry hill”), and the district runs from the area around Boeung Kak Lake out to the developed pockets further west. Its northern reaches have grown steadily more affluent, with housing now priced comparably to what you’d find in town.

Being outside the city center gives Toul Kork a genuinely different rhythm — it’s the natural choice for anyone after a quieter pace of life. Wide roads and a spacious layout give it a suburban feel, though the district has taken on a far more commercial character in recent years, joining Tonle Bassac, Daun Penh, and BKK1 among Phnom Penh’s established housing options.

Infrastructure has kept pace with that growth: TK is well served by supermarkets, hospitals, schools, restaurants, and cafés, with AEON Mall 2 — Cambodia’s second international mall — just 15 minutes away. It also sits close to major institutions including RUPP, IFL, the Institute of Technology, Pannasastra, the Tax Department, and the Ministry of Labour.

Despite a wave of new high-rises, villas and gated communities still define much of the district, and wealthy Cambodian families continue to favor TK as a place to settle. Rising affluence has brought a wider retail scene too, with TK Avenue and Phnom Penh City Centre Mall among the standout additions, alongside the large-scale Boeung Kak and Camko City developments — part of a broader shift The Phnom Penh Post has tracked closely as the district’s apartment supply expands. Southern TK, by contrast, remains mostly low-rise and locally owned.
